31 July is almost here. Is your label ready?

Admin ·

From 31 July 2026, every cosmetic product newly placed on the EU market must declare an extended list of fragrance allergens — 56 new substances, from 24 to over 80, each to be listed once it exceeds the threshold (0.001% leave-on, 0.01% rinse-off). Stock already on the market can sell through until 2028, but everything you place after the deadline has to be right. And if you finalised your artwork against the 2023 text: a corrigendum of November 2025 changed three more entries, so your labels deserve one final pass.

Most brands treat this as a labelling job. It isn't. You can only declare what's on your label if you know precisely what's in your product — which allergens your essential oils and botanicals carry, at what concentration, backed by supplier declarations. That's a sourcing and traceability question, not an artwork question. So we built a short readiness check: five minutes, a handful of questions about your suppliers, your formulations and your documentation, and you'll know exactly where your brand stands — and what still needs to happen before the deadline.

One more thing. While building our compliance engine, we noticed the market can't agree on how many allergens the new list actually contains — 80, 81 or 82, depending on who you ask. We worked it out from the regulation itself, line by line. The full list — all 81 declarable substances, with reference number and CAS, traced to Annex III — is freely available here: [EU fragrance-allergen list]. No form, no paywall. Precision is our product.
